What to pack

Use this list to help decide what you do and don't need to bring with you for your new life on campus. Make sure you check out what you can and can't bring into Australia.

Before you leave:

  • Music speakers and headphones
  • Clothes for all weather types
  • Smart outfit
  • Sports kit
  • USB stick
  • Mobile phone charger
  • Laptop/PC and cables
  • An adaptor that connects to Australian power points
  • Diary
  • Confirmation of enrolment
  • Valid passport and/or ID
  • Any important health documents
  • Photos
  • Medicines and prescriptions
  • Toiletries
  • Australian dollars or some cash ready to change

When you get here:

  • Pillow
  • Doona (duvet) and spare blanket
  • Two sets of bed linen
  • Towels
  • Stationery - notebooks, sticky notes, loose-leaf paper
  • Whiteboard or corkboard
  • Plates, bowls, and cutlery
  • Cooking pots and pans
  • Cooking utensils
  • Plastic containers
  • Glasses and mugs
  • Sponge, washing up liquid, and tea towels
  • Desk lamp and spare globe
  • Iron
  • Coat hangers
  • Backpack or laptop bag for classes
  • Laundry detergent, pegs and small washing basket
  • A plant or two
