  • Why is Charles Sturt my best choice?

Deciding to study overseas is a big commitment. And we're happy to report it's one that many of our students make.

Here are five reasons why around 21 per cent of all Charles Sturt students are from overseas.

    • Our graduates get jobs. We have Australia’s highest graduate employment rate, and we make sure you’re ready to make your mark in the workplace from day one.
    • Career-focused, academic excellence. Our academics have extensive experience in the industries they teach. And smaller class sizes mean you’re never a number – your lecturers know you by name.
    • Industry-accredited courses. We work with national and international organisations to give you the most relevant and up-to-date knowledge.
    • You’re part of the Charles Sturt family. When you study with us you’ll join our vibrant Charles Sturt community. We welcome students from all over Australia and the world. You’ll make friends for life.
    • Safe and secure environment. Our campuses are small, friendly communities based in regional Australia. You’ll feel safe and secure with our 24/7 on-campus security. If there’s ever an issue, we’ll be right there to support you.

At Charles Sturt we’re geographically gifted. From the bush to the beach, our unique regional campuses will give you the authentic cultural experience you’ve been looking for. What’s more, the cost of living is lower than in the big cities.

We have five campuses for you to choose from and plenty of other places you can study. Find your new home at one of our campus cities.

  • What are my study options?

And when you stay at our affordable on-campus accommodation, you’ll be living within walking distance of your classes. • What are the course entry requirements?

You'll need to meet the minimum academic, English language and course entry requirements to study at Charles Sturt. Take a look at our courses for information on international student admission requirements.

  • Where can I find out about the cost of study?

While a uni degree is a big financial commitment, it's one of the best investments you can make in your future. Find out about our costs and take a look at our scholarships and grants as well – there's so many ways we can help make your study affordable.

  • What other costs can I expect?

    Accommodation

If you want to study on campus in Australia, you’ll need to think about costs such as accommodation, travel, meals and other living expenses. Accommodation and meals can all be taken care of through our student packages, designed to meet your lifestyle and budget. And the best part about living on campus? You don’t have to worry about bond, bills or furniture – it’s all included.

Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF)

When you go to university you’ll pay a Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF) for each subject you study. It doesn't cost much.  This fee goes towards providing non-academic support services and facilities to improve the student experience whilst studying. For the calendar year 2023, the SSAF will be $40 per 8-point subject, with a maximum annual fee capped at $320 per student.

    Textbooks, uniforms and workplace learning

Depending on your course, you may also need to consider the cost of a few extras, like textbooks, uniforms and attending workplace learning. But none of these things need to cost a fortune. For instance, you may be able to buy your textbooks second-hand – or better still, borrow them from the uni library.
