Cross-institutional learning
The best way to study subjects you can't get at your current uni.
This is a great uni hack. Study an area you're passionate about with us and you could receive credit towards your degree!
You don't need to relocate to a Charles Sturt campus either. The majority of our subjects can be studied online – so it's up to you when and where you learn.
You'll also have access to our fantastic services and support, so you'll definitely feel like part of the Charles Sturt family.
How to take part in cross-institutional study at Charles Sturt University
Step 1
Explore our range of single subjects
Search our range of single subjects.
Step 2
Check your eligibility
Unsure if you're eligible for cross-institutional study? Get in touch. As a general rule, if you're currently enrolled as a Commonwealth supported or domestic fee-paying student at any Australian uni, you're eligible.
Step 3
Contact your current university
Get written confirmation from your current uni stating the Charles Sturt University subject(s) you want to study will be recognised. Make sure the letter states any coursework undertaken at Charles Sturt will go towards your current degree as credit or recognition of prior learning.
Step 4
Apply online
When you apply online, you'll need to upload:
- the confirmation letter from your current uni confirming the subject(s) you're enrolling in will be added as credit, or as recognition of prior learning, to your degree
- a copy of your Commonwealth Assistance Notice (CAN)
- a copy of your most recent academic transcript, if the subject you want to study with us has any prerequisites.
