Charles Sturt University and the NSW Police Force have formed a unique partnership to design, develop and deliver police recruit education. The partnership is an important strategy in the development of ethical and professional police officers in a rapidly changing police and community environment. The resources of both the NSW Police Force and a responsive and progressive university have been brought together to provide a balanced and innovative service in policing education.
Study with support
As part of the recruitment process, you must complete the Associate Degree in Policing Practice - and we have some great news for you! We're now making it easier for you to get your dream qualification. From 2023, complete Session 1 online for ultimate flexibility and work-life balance. Session 2 will be on campus and to support your study even further, you'll get a $3000 allowance (paid fortnightly).
What you'll learn
The Associate Degree in Policing Practice focuses on the foundational studies and applied skills and knowledge necessary for the modern police professional. The knowledge and skills developed through the course are designed to meet the education needs of individuals seeking future employment with the NSW Police Force. Subjects have been designed in extensive consultation with police, the justice community and academics, ensuring they are vocationally relevant and up-to-date with the latest issues. There are a number of intakes into the ADPP each year and the actual number of positions available varies depending on the organisational needs of the NSW Police Force.
