At Charles Sturt University, our Direct Entry Program is your free pathway into uni – no ATAR, no recent study, no problem.

Apply for the program

Over just five days, you'll:

  • Explore study and career options that suit your goals
  • Build confidence in a friendly, supportive environment
  • Learn the skills you need to succeed at university
  • Meet new people and get a feel for campus life

Successfully complete the program, and you’ll gain direct entry into a relevant Charles Sturt degree. If you're not quite ready, we’ll help you get started with a university preparation course instead.

At Charles Sturt, we believe uni is for everyone – no matter your background or experience. With support every step of the way, we’ve got you.

Eligibility criteria

  • Applicants must be 19 years or over at time of attendance or have completed Year 12 study (or equivalent) prior to 2025.
  • Applicants must also fit into at least one of the following categories:
    • Live in regional and remote Australia.
    • Be from low socioeconomic status (low SES) backgrounds.
    • Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
  • Current Year 12 students are ineligible to apply.

Enabling courses

If you need a bit of help getting into the swing of things, don't worry. We're making your journey to university that bit easier. We have two additional enabling courses to get you ready to study an undergraduate degree.

The Access Charles Sturt Entry and the Undergraduate Certificate in University Preparation are great options to help you start on the path to the course and career you want.

We have scholarships and grants totalling over $11 million annually!

They cover areas like academic performance, volunteering, sporting achievements, community service, specific courses, on-campus living and individuals in unique circumstances.
