Medicine

You become a doctor to help people. Help them to stay healthy, recover from illness and have the best quality of life. In many rural and regional communities, however, that help is simply not there. When you study medicine at Charles Sturt you learn in the regions – so you can help the regions.

You'll learn about a range of areas in medicine, from general practice, emergency medicine and surgery, to paediatrics, obstetrics, and medical research. You'll learn in purpose-built facilities. And you'll complete professional placements across our training network – to experience the unique needs and challenges of working with real patients in regional communities. Where doctors are needed most.

Make a difference at the heart of the healthcare network in your community. Combine clinical knowledge, applied skills and empathic patient care – to be the doctor your patients deserve.

Make a difference

Get ready to make a difference in your community by studying our Doctor of Medicine joint program.

The Doctor of Medicine is delivered in partnership with Western Sydney University. Our School of Rural Medicine has worked with regional health authorities to establish a network of nine clinical schools across New South Wales and Victoria, where you'll undertake placements during your course.
