Chaplains provide spiritual guidance to those seeking it. You’ll encourage spirituality and provide comfort to those in need through religious services, pastoral guidance and counselling, often working in hospitals, schools, prisons or the military. You’ll be well-equipped with the spiritual knowledge to support individuals through hardships and crises, and develop highly valued skills in cross-cultural communication.

Teach your community

Help others learn more about the Islamic tradition and its practices as an educator. You’ll be empowered with a range of knowledge that will enhance your teaching style, including the ability to understand the primary sources of Islam through their original language. Enhance understanding of Islamic culture in the classroom, especially in a community that has a high Muslim population.

Delve deeper into your faith

Contribute to the world of academia through grounded research and data collection. You can choose from a vast range of research areas, including Islamophobia, Muslim identity, Muslims in the West, faith and spirituality. As an academic researcher, you could go on to advise government departments, so they can make informed decisions that cater for the needs of the Muslim community.

Advocate for your community

As a consultant, you can help others better understand the Muslim community – and the challenges it faces. Utilise your skills and knowledge in careers that take you into Muslim and Islamic environments. Whether you work in social services, defence, law, charity, NGOs, or government sectors, you will have a better understanding of the community you work with – and so be able to advocate for them.
